In the spring of 2013, Mandel Metals teamed up with the University of Kansas’s Studio 804 EcoHawks group, to be the sole supplier of aluminum for construction of the Hill Engineering Research & Development Center. The Center’s goal is to build a better electric car.
Mandel Metals proudly worked with the EcoHawks group, who are part of the mechanical engineering program in the School of Engineering, and are focused on finding alternative methods of charging electric vehicles.
The project was a huge success for the University of Kansas’s Studio 804 group and Mandel Metals, garnering the EcoHawks group publication in the August issue of “Architect Magazine”, focusing on the Hill Engineering Center project. https://www.architectmagazine.com/design-build/eco-hawks-research-facility.aspx?printerfriendly=true
