Frankin Park, IL, July 18, 2018 – The U.S. Commerce Department granted it’s first aluminum tariff exemption to Mandel Metals Inc. This action grants Mandel Metals Inc. exemption from the section 232 aluminum penalty which imposes a 10% tariff on aluminum imports. This exemption was necessary for Mandel Metals in order to provide some relief for import supply of flat rolled aluminum due to domestic supply constraints.
According to Jayson Fetters, National Sales Director, “Here at Mandel Metals we are constantly looking for paths to better support our customers through creation of additional value. Protecting profit margins and strengthening supply chain management is crucial. This tariff exclusion, and hopefully others that follow, will help provide that path. Mandel Metals can provide much-needed savings to our customer partners for this volume.”
